Well, this is the IRS answer to Donnie's promise of a "postcard" 1040. Of course the tax code hasn't changed that much, so how the heck did they shrink the form? Very simple, there are FIVE new schedules, each one of which contains a few lines from the old 1040.
Now, do you suppose tax preparers are going to complete the new 1040, PLUS the five new schedules, for the same price as the old 1040? MAGAA! (Make America Great Again for Accountants)
