The leveling box on a JD 6620 combine is electronic inside. Nothing to maintain. All the dealerships around here had the test boxes you would hook to the leveling box to test it. We used to keep a few parts for them but in the last twenty years we just send them to Ag Express and let them repair the boxes. I have a box on the shelf off a scrap combine. I just switch it out and send the other one to be repaired. Usually not more than $100.
I would try cleaning the connections at the electric solenoids on the hydraulic level control valve. If they are corroded they can make it respond funny. The manual switch in the cab will send full voltage as the harness is shorter and less to go wrong.
