Rear window regulator quit on my 05 DTS. I have a couple spares, but wasn't sure which door they fit so I pulled the bad one out. I expected the plastic wheel the cable rides on to be broke, but the plastic piece that holds the cable to the metal frame was the culprit. Naturally, I didn't have the right regulator either...
Since the cable has ends cast onto it that hook into the drum, it's not possible to slide another plastic piece on. I figured I could make one out of aluminum and slit the side to get it over the cable. I probably have more time in it than its worth, but it's working and didn't cost me anything...
