6.50x16 was a very common size in the UK - all early short wheel base Landrovers had them as standard - made in their millions and exported world wide. Can't get 6.50x 16s any more - if you were in the UK someone would immediately bite your hand off for them! Anyway, the consensus here seems to be that the modern equivalent is something like 205/80/R16 - though these are a little fatter than the originals. Jim
