Roundup has been used for decades, with no ill effects generally noted, despite what some slick-talking plaintiff's attorney was able to convince a bunch of wacko California jurors (the same state that brought you the OJ Simpson jury, and laws that fine you for clearing brush to make a defensible space around your house so it doesn't burn down).
I've often thought that it was strange that you put people on a jury in a technical trial who have no training in science, and probably don't understand what is even being talked about. They go in the jury room in a fog, and all they can see is a poor minority landscaper who is sick, and award millions because he seems like a nice guy. They could have done him a bigger favor by awarding $5 million or so- enough to make the family happy, and perhaps they would actually get some money. With a $247 million verdict, Monsanto can't afford to let that go unchallenged, so will have it on appeal until everyone involved has long since passed away.
