They do not speculate the market. They make money on handling the grain, they don't play gambling games by owning grain for periods of time. A few have tried that in desperation, those are the ones you read about going down opinion flames.....
Farming is a lot more year around now than it used to be, lot of fellas didn't sell all their crop yet, especially corn. Based on history, corn should have gone up, not follow beans down steeply.
But I'm not totally disagreeing with you, indeed the 2 months of lower prices met with a knee jerk govt bailout is not anything that makes me happy. Such handouts distort the markets and often lower grain prices actually lower, and so that awful cycle can start again....
