Maybe one of you more crop educated can explain to me.
This is all anxiety at this point on the farmers part. A lot of this years crop is most likely pre sold before the price started to drop. The part that was not pre sold is not being harvested yet so it is not selling now. It seems at this point the one taking it in the shorts now is the grain elevator that is selling beans today it bought last year. Yet the farmer is the one getting the bail out.
There was a retired bean farmer (woman) on the national news (radio) today complaining how the tariffs had drove them out of business. I think if you are out of business in 4 months and not at harvest time you got out for other reasons and are using this opportunity to speak your piece about the tariffs.
Sure sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo and smoke and mirrors to me.
