Back in the 90's I went out to Wyoming deer hunting. I couldn't get over the huge stacks of hay bales out in the open, without even a tarp to cover them. It was obvious that very little rain fell, and any that did evaporated immediately. Stacks like that would be rotten in a month here in Vermont. It's a different world out there.
