Barnyard ...... great advice. Up here the process is called directional drilling and/or hydrovac. The"drilling" unit uses water to bore the hole and then the equipment follows with the pipe somehow ...... . with no surface disruption. Going to need two access openings though, one at each end of the patch I would guess to tie in the bypass. Not sure if I missed something in the post but I wonder how deep this pipe is? Up here it would probably be at least six feet, so below the winter frost line.
