With my old Grasshopper I just picked the front of the deck up with the chain hoist or cherry picker, whichever was handy at the time. The new Grasshopper has an electric tilting deck. At first I thought the electric tilt was a frivolous waste of money but now that I've had it for ten years I find myself cleaning the underside of the deck after nearly every time I mow because it's so easy to do. For anyone who buys any brand of mower that has an electric tilt deck I do recommend it.
