None of my fields are anywhere close to a regular shape. I've been mowing with a NI 272 cut-ditioner for several years with an 806 D. I run counter clockwise on the first 4-5 laps and then go clockwise in a lower gear until I'm out of the trampled hay. The cut-ditioner does a pretty good job of picking up downed grass. I've also used it to fluff rained on windrows by running with it up. Since I have multiple low overhanging trees, I may start out away from the fence with the cutditioner and get the backswaths with a sickle bar on a smaller tractor. IF it ever dries up enough....
