When you replaced the solenoid, did you take the starter off, disassemble, clean and inspect everything?
Could be a mechanical binding keeping the drive from sliding freely on the shaft.
But since it always starts by jumping the terminal at the starter, probably voltage drop from the starter switch, neutral switch, and the wiring in between. You can add a relay down by the starter. Come off the battery post, to the relay, back to the energizer terminal of the solenoid with #10 wire. Then energize the relay with the original start wire.
