I think the dealer just didn't wish to accommodate me and the Toro company just wanted to brush me off. I called Toro and got nowhere. I think there is some kind of design flaw with this mower. Perhaps they recently changed the way they are made and I got stuck with it. I think I'm going to have to try harder to pick up sticks or get rid of the mower and get a different brand. I don't see that as a possibility to get rid of it in the near future.
Most of the time I buy used equipment but right now I'm struggling trying to fix two tractors and I didn't want to buy something else to repair so this time I bought new. Live and learn I guess. It's getting harder and harder to buy something made right anymore. In any case now that I know what is going on I will fix it myself in the future. As fast as that happened I seriously doubt if the belt was damaged.
