If you have never previously been in a parade I suggest you pull nothing the first time but of course that depends on the parade too, how big? where at? How many watchers. The only tractors that go a steady pace are the first few in line, the rest is speed up, slow down or stop go, stop go. Our local show parade goes through town and it is both heavily participated in and attended. Most participants throw candy and kids are darting around retrieving it and a person must be every attentive AND be able to stop. I had a young child dart right at a front tire once and it was a good thing I was pulling nothing and had good brakes. After that I always had a rider who watched one side and I watched the other. Not trying to over complicate a fun and simple act of driving in a parade but I wasn't prepared for what goes on in my first one.
