Usually I don't pull anything in parades, but I have on occasion--maybe a wagon or plow, one time a 2 row planter. One time I pulled a 4H float with some kids on it and another time a wagon with a musical group.
The thing about hauling people is you have to watch the sudden starts and stops, which can occur during a parade. It's not bad if they're all sitting down, but if some are standing up, like those musicians, it's easy for them to lose their balance if you jerk it a little.
I also hate following someone that is throwing candy, as you never know when a kid is going to dart out in front of you. I've had one or two close calls over the years. I never throw candy myself, and I always leave a little bit of distance between me and the unit ahead of me.
