As for that article, many of the countries listed no longer have much (if any) wild game to hunt. That means no hunters. A few of the countries, there are very few people who can afford to buy such a gun.
In England, there is virtually no game left out there that isn't better taken by using a trap. However, in their effort to stop crime, they have now began a new law to make certain knives illegal to ship (not sure about to own). ...Not machetes or swords, but a normal "hunting" or "skinning" knife.
This reinforces to me that it isn't the "tool used" that is the problem, but the people who wield the tool. But then, there's a whole lot more to the overall drama than these few things.
