To each his own. I buy from ASC and buy the 3mm blades as they cut the best when worn on the tips and I have no rocks, and am not hard on my equipment. Otherwise I'd use the thicker blade and grind a sharp edge on it when the point is worn off. I prefer smooth as they cut deeper along the whole circumference of the blade....proven on the same axle with both kinds cutting. Brazilian or Indian makes no difference to me in chemistry. Neither seem to outshine the other.
