I posted a couple months ago that were selling a
tractor to fund a bursary in memory of my sister.
The current bid is a very generous one on the
restored 2N Ford-Ferguson at $5500. The runner
up bidder is due home this evening from family
vacation and we'll give him the chance to counter
bid tomorrow and either way get the sale finalized
tomorrow evening. Here's the write up were using
for the school. I'll post the auction results when it's
finished up tomorrow.
Sheila Phillips was born on a mixed farm in West
Cape on January 17 1968. She was a daughter to
Erwin&Betty and a sister to Dwayne. She attended
Westisle High School from 1983-1985 where she
completed grade 11. During her time at Westisle
she was actively involved in Cheerleading and
Allied Youth.
Sheila was know by her classmates as always
meeting you with a flashing smile a quick hello and
wave whenever you met her in the hallway. She had
many friends both at Westisle and outside of
school. She attended Sunday school for many
years at the West Point Presbyterian Church where
she took part in young people's,helped lead special
services ,took part in musical cantatas and assisted
in Vacation Bible School.
Sheila loved going to the beach, riding her 10
speed bike to go visit friends or just being at home
with her friends. She loved music and some of her
favourite singers at the time were Billy Joel and
Bryan Adams to name a few.
On June 29 1985 while camping with friends, she
and a group of friends went for a drive and their car
was struck by an impaired driver. Sheila and one of
her friends Dean Ferguson both lost their lives as a
result of the accident.
Although many years have gone by since her
passing, she forever lives on in all of us that we're
fortunate enough to have been a part of her life.
