From what I see organic is whatever the farmer wants to call it. Seems like now a day's organic only means no pesticides or herbicides. All that plastic they are putting down doesn't count. Nor the diesel fuel drips, or oil, or antifreeze or fertilizer. Organic just sounds better than herbicide/pesticide free and you get to charge more.
I'm all for the organic farmers but they blow a lot of smoke to cover up the fact they are only going halfway. To truly be organic one needs to let the land heal itself for seven years. Then you would have to use livestock to work that land. Then you would need a bunch of manure from free range animals to feed the crops. And you woulden't be laying plastic everywhere to contaminate the land! JMO
