I own a Belarus 420 2 WD Diesel 4 cylinder air cooled Tractor,65 HP ....purchased new in 1979:
I never babied this Tractor... It has work! It's an air cooled Engine...keep it CLEAN!
Each fall the Tractor was taken cleaned with a high pressure, hot water with detergent shop, and ENGINE was cleaned!

Now at 5000 Hrs (TTSN), the bearings in the Transmission must be replaced:
The Tractor is crude, as in nothing is finished visually like a North American Tractor!
The Tractor had to narrow of rear tires for the HP I expected the machine to deliver to the rear wheels:

This was rectified, by Machining Adaptor spools ( my late brother was a master machinist with his own shop) that attach to the rear axle studs and facilitated MF 88 Diesel rear 30" tires, Rims and center pieces to be installed as rear replacements. Filled with liquid ballast.....700 lbs + per tire......:)

The Engine has a Centrifuge OIL filter design....:)
Three point has down pressure..........:)
Engine has a decompression mechanism for starting in cold weather.......:)

All electrical wiring on back side of Dash did not last 1000 hrs....totally fell apart!
Alternator failed at 500 HRS!
Engine does not use any oil after 5000 hs (TTSN)....15-40 diesel designation oil.

Now that the transmission has problem's. I have NOT looked into parts supply. I purchased a used Belarus 400 with a failed clutch. Owners son refused to repair Tractor used for dairy farm chores. Tires were sold, however, transmission ,and engine are fine...:)

Before you purchases a Belarus 4 cylinder air cooled tractor think about getting the facts....do not go with he said she said.

I shall continue using one of my Belarus Machines and as machines appear for sail I shall purchase as spare inventory;

The Pictures are of the REAR adaptor spools for the MF 88 Diesel rear 30" tires, Rims and center pieces.

The parts Tractor requires a clutch ,tires . Purchased for $300.00.

Bob...Retired Power engine...own and operate GREEN TRACTORS, Grey Fergusons and Orange Case......

Today's Featured Article - The 8N and the Fox - by Zane Sherman. Dec. 13 1998, Renfroe, Alabama. Last niht I dreamed about the day that I plowed the field of about 10 acres over on what Jimmy and Dandy called the Ledbetter field. I was driving the 1948 8N Ford tractor that Jimmy bought in 48 new This was prebably in about 1951 and maybe even befor the house was built. This would have made me to be about16 years old and I drove the tractor for nothing and would have paid to drive it if I had had any money which I didn't, but neit ... [Read Article]
