Few years ago sold my truck with the expired plates on. They expired the day he picked it up so were no longer good to me so told him to put them in garbage. We just have stickers when renued so the plate is still in the system for the address. I got a letter from New Jersy that I have never been close to with a picture of that plate on a car. Went to sherifs office and told them that the plate had been left on truck when I sold it and had been expire already a couple of years when I got that letter. Did not take him long to get it cleared up for me but have no idea who stole that expired plate here in Ohio.
