I know less than squadoosh about Farmall tractors. Here's my 8 cents worth(inflation).
You buy a vintage tractor, and all the various important bits work pretty much as designed. It goes fairly straight down the road, no parts fall off, and it'll lift some weight from the 3pt or fast-hitch, or whatev. Decent tires, and moderate patina without a lot of torch/sawzall damage.
Hard to go wrong at ~$25-2800. Given the labor, parts and hassle to do a head job, or a clutch job, or a hyd job, or a dozen other jobs on a tractor that you buy cheaper. Did you get the lowest, bestest, bargain of the century? Maybe not, but you got a solid machine, which shows recent care, and that's worth $2-300 bucks no matter if it's red, green, orange, or yellow.
