We bought an old one a few years ago for $50, it was completely dead, guy thought the starter was shot. When we got it home I jumped the solenoid and started it and drove it in my shop, and the wife got on the internet. In about 3 minutes she came out and said it's a fuse, the wire to the headlights usually breaks an blows the fuse. So I fixed the headlight wire and put a new fuse in and all was fine. As I remember the fuse was just in the wiring harness, not mounted anywhere, pretty common on a lawn tractor. Sold it for $250 the next summer, have to get lucky once in awhile!
