: I am rebuilding a 51 IH WD9 tractor and I am wondering if the old mag driven hydraulic pump would have enough pressure to lift implements. I think that the pump is rated for 1200 PSI at 12 GPM. Being slightly worn it may develop less pressure than this. If it doesen't have enough pressure I will mount a higher pressure pump on the front of the engine. Thanks for any help. : Joshua 1200 psi will lift if the cylinder is bigger. You might need a 4" cylinder instead of a 3" diameter cylinder. Or some such proportions. Look at the lever arms too, generally the cylinder is on the short arm so needs more push than the implement weighs. A lot of more recent tractor lift systems work at 2000 or 2250 or more. Gerald
