Over the years I have had to replace a couple hydraulic pipes on my John Deere combines due to leaking. I think the leaks were always near a fitting on something like a cast valve body. I noticed the feeder house was all oily today and looked under the cab at the main valve and saw some oil dripping. When we quit I laid on the feeder house and stuck my head under the cab to take a closer look at the main valve. I could see where it was leaking. I loosened and re - tightened the compression fitting. Pipe has a double flare. Didn't help. Might have made it worst. I assume there is a crack at or near the end of the pipe. Problem is I can't see a crack. It is possible to have a hairline crack and not be able to see it with the naked eye?????? Thanks.
