The weather in Nebraska is known to be contrary. Now the monsoon season has hit just when fall harvest should be in full swing. It rained most of last week, and more is on the way. I'm wondering what the outcome might be.
One BTO who has corn and soybeans planted near my place had absolutely beautiful crops while they were growing. Now that the crops are ripe and ready to harvest, it appears the plant population of both is so dense that no air or sunlight will be able to reach the ground to dry things out from the current, recent, and future rains. In the case of drilled soybeans, it's possible the lower portions of the plants may not be able to dry out because the plants are now one matted down mess.
It should be interesting. And it's one of the reasons I've said two of the happiest days of my life were the day I started farming and the day I quit.
