Had a GE already in place where we moved to and used it for about three months and the wife said she couldn't get the timer to turn to the the proper cycle any more. I just pushed it out of the way and put the old whirlpool on line. After a while I looked at the GE and the push pull knob had the plastic teeth worn off both on the knob and the timer side. After looking at it for a while I noticed that the inner ring with the arrow on it (behind the knob) was also connected to the timer axle with a slot. By turning the ring you could pick the cycle wanted. Only problem was the face of ring is slick and so I filed grooves in it and that solved the problem. Just sold it the other day and explained it all to the buyer and he was ok with it.
