Correct. Remember with the engine OFF. You only want to FLASH it. Just enough to get a really big pop of a spark. Now going down another path that is pretty close. If you have a really old portable generator and it will not generate. Most likely it has lost its polarization. Plug in a good old fasion hand drill that has brushes in it. You always smell a little Ozone when you use it. With the generator running pull the trigger on the drill and give the chuck a couple of fast twists. SHAAM. The generator should start working.
