I'm unaware as to how a number of former Cornell classmates fared after graduation. I do know that a very substantial number of people I knew at Alfred are no longer in farming and have been that way for quite a while now. Not a reflection on the education offered but a reflection of circumstances that existed on quite a few farms. Some were not able to grow to sustain two plus generations. Some went out due to poor estate planning or disagreement as to what was to take place when the elders stepped out. Some went through bad divorces or childhood rivalries that broke into open feuds once the kids hit adulthood. Yet, a fair number are running profitable farm businesses today.
