Many new tractors/and or vehicles are that way now. It is unfortunate but not much you can do about it. For 300 bucks I would do everything I could to find a replacement clip or to make one. You must have liked the tractor when you bought it so why would you take a major loss because of a bulb clip ? I am sure something could be done to fix it. I also like others have said would have contacted the dealer I instead of trying to fix it myself being that new. I like you have tried to fix it hings that would have been covered and it has turned around to bite me more than once. I guess if you want factory original you'll pay the 300 for a new assembly. I don't think you'll find any lawyer willing to take a case for a 300 headlight. When my wife was injured we could not find a lawyer to take the case. Just under 5k. I they said it was too small. Just my personal experience.
