You are right. No need to worry if you forgot to switch back to gas before a shutdown as the carb has a big drain on it so that the kero could be drained and the carb filled with gas to start the engine. Old has it right in that the "all fuel and dual fuel" engines could be run on many fuels as long as the engine was sufficiently warm before switching from gasoline. Those all fuel, dual fuel tractors also had a curtain in front of the radiator to cause the engine to get very warm in a hurry. Yes, they will run on number 2 fuel, also called diesel fuel.
