I went thur the same situation this last week, seen a crawler on Craigs list, called guy about it. After talking to him for about 45 minutes, he said the only time he would be at the farm was on Wed, I told him I would be there wed. The machine was 3 1/2 hrs west of me. I text him Monday and said I would be heading his way Wed. morn. He text me back and said there was 4 other guys that wanted it, but he would hold it for me, so returned his text and told him I would be there right after lunch. I got there when I said I would, looked the crawler over, paid him his asking price with cash. We visited for awhile, he even gave me a Airco (Miller) gas welder. So I am headed back with truck and trailer to pick it up along with the welder this coming Wed, which is the only time he will be at his farm. I really enjoy dealing with an individual that honors his word.
