Tractor buying situation that went well

Saw a tractor I liked and it was priced very reasonable. Ad described it well, called the guy went to look. It needed work which was ok. Guy gave me a better price so I paid him. He had no problem taking a check he had to hold the tractor for over a week till I could pick it up (about 2 hours away). Got there very early loaded it (seemed to get along good with the guy anyway) So he took me over to his main part of his farm showed me his tractors and stuff then we rode around the area looking at farms ,barns etc. Talking about the way it was back when ( I knew the area well) Did not get home till much later but had a good day a made a new friend. He told me he did not need the tractor and wanted to see it go to some one who could respect it. Only other offer was a scrapper at $200 he threw him off the property!!! Most of the time it ends up like the post below.

I bought a bobcat off of craigslist a year ago. I told the guy I would take it for that price if he delivered it. ( He lived two hours away ) He showed up on time, and I handed him a cashiers check, and we chatted for a while. He said his friends told him he was crazy to take the machine for what could be nothing more than a ride around the state. Sometimes it turns out ok, usually not though.

I had a guy drove from Georgia to Indiana to buy my dual sport motorcycle. Brought cash and never tried to get me down on price. I took some money off the price just for him being honest.

My daughter in Avon need some tree work. I had her contact my tree guy. He gave her the best price, he got the job. Daughter was happy.

The Tree trimmer also got other jobs from her neighbors. Tree trimmer charged her neighbor $600 to remove some trees. When finished guy handed him $600 in cash and title to a truck. The guy said he doesn't need the truck anymore. I didn't ask what shape the truck was in. Tree trimmer was happy to get it. Now that's what I call a sweet tip, don't you?

I went thur the same situation this last week, seen a crawler on Craigs list, called guy about it. After talking to him for about 45 minutes, he said the only time he would be at the farm was on Wed, I told him I would be there wed.
The machine was 3 1/2 hrs west of me. I text him Monday and said I would be heading his way Wed. morn. He text me back and said there was 4 other guys that wanted it, but he would hold it for me, so returned his text and told him I would be there right after lunch. I got there when I said I would, looked the crawler over, paid him his asking price with cash. We visited for awhile, he even gave me a Airco (Miller) gas welder. So I am headed back with truck and trailer to pick it up along with the welder this coming Wed, which is the only time he will be at his farm. I really enjoy dealing with an individual that honors his word.

I bought feeder pigs from a guy on c list a few years back and now i buy every year from him. Called him a few weeks back to see if he had any soon as the fair pig were gone and said he would save me some till then. Livestock auction was sat so I called and said I would get them soon as I finished baling hay, turns out he needs hay so we both ended up happy with the trade.
