In the early 80's, we had a new JD 7000. They had a shut off for each planting unit. So guess who forgot to turn on a row?? Oh, and monitor!!! We didn't need no stinking monitor!! That cost money!!
And we were no tilling corn, in a clover/mixed grass field, so the rows were hard to even see. Plus, the field was pretty steep, irregular, and it was terraces, so we were planting on the contour.
Try fixing that!!! I planted 4 or 5 acres that way, then had to go back over the contour with only one row turned on. What a mess.
