The military had a bunch of vehicles in the war that I had never heard of until recently. Allis Chalmers made a M4 18 ton high speed tractor with a 817 cu Waukesha gas engine. They also made the M6 36 ton high speed tractor with two 817 cu Waukesha engines. The M4 is a beast, the M6 must have been awesome. The M4 engine had two big down draft carbs and had an 80 mile range on a 110 gallon gas tank. Figure out the mileage. I can only imagine what the M6 mileage would be.
