I know the feeling. Couple years ago brand new MS461 I tried to cut through a standing dead stump bout 20 foot tall. It would not fall over so I pushed it with the loader. Well it fell sideways onto the chainsaw that was safely out of range and cracked the handle. 200 some dollars later I had a new saw again.
Same saw I managed to pinch the bar in some standing dead ash trees. These are the ash borer trees so you never know what they will do. I took the powerhead off and went for backup. In the felling process I pinched the almost new bar and bent it. I probably should have had a plastic wedge with me and could have saved that bar.
