Just a general comment for all. Here in La Crosse WI we have the La Crosse strain of Viral Encephalitis. Viral Encephalitis carrying mosquitos breed and hatch in anything that holds water, including old open tires. There are other strains of Viral Encephalitis, some regional flavors.
Sorry to sound like some uppity do-gooder but my son became left side paralyzed and suffered severe screaming headaches for a couple weeks. He did fully recover but it was hell while it lasted. He left the hospital nothing but skin and bones.
So my point is eliminate water holding items outdoors whenever possible. While I like old iron also, those pictures brought back bad memories.
In our case the county tested the woods around our house for several years and did find a low level occurrence of the La Crosse Viral Encephalitis carrying misquotes. All it takes is rotted out stumps or tree branches that hold a little water. At that time our kids played in the woods quite a bit.
My wife, a pediatric nurse, went on to become a teaching source on this topic for the local hospital.
