I picked up a head and crank at the guy who does our machine work on my way back from the lake today.
He has a bunch of Olivers there so it's always interesting to have a look at his stuff.
I know there's a bunch of Ollie fans here.
Thought you might enjoy these.

I should take a pic of the farm. We have everything gathered together at our other farm because of selling the other. I counted 16 tractors today and there are at least 4 more at the farm yet and lots of equipment and some junk. We have one van trailer filled top to bottom with parts, engines, etc. There are probably 30 sets plus of tires in a row.

Oh boy pretty close to my situation just not all the same color!!!! The one with the most toys wins!! Hope auto correct does not botch this!!

Just a general comment for all. Here in La Crosse WI we have the La Crosse strain of Viral Encephalitis. Viral Encephalitis carrying mosquitos breed and hatch in anything that holds water, including old open tires. There are other strains of Viral Encephalitis, some regional flavors.

Sorry to sound like some uppity do-gooder but my son became left side paralyzed and suffered severe screaming headaches for a couple weeks. He did fully recover but it was hell while it lasted. He left the hospital nothing but skin and bones.

So my point is eliminate water holding items outdoors whenever possible. While I like old iron also, those pictures brought back bad memories.

In our case the county tested the woods around our house for several years and did find a low level occurrence of the La Crosse Viral Encephalitis carrying misquotes. All it takes is rotted out stumps or tree branches that hold a little water. At that time our kids played in the woods quite a bit.

My wife, a pediatric nurse, went on to become a teaching source on this topic for the local hospital.

For what it's worth.

Are you also for draining the wetlands (AKA swamps, mudholes) across the USA? Without doing that most every other effort at cutting down on mosquito habitat is pretty much a futile effort.

Thanks for the warning. There is a difference between tires and swamps inside a tire really never dries out from the sunlight thats always the nastiest water you can find . Also through the mississippi river system there is a disease that you can get from bird droppings a friend got he eventually died from it be aware and be safe and I'm glad your boy is ok.

If you hadn't said it I probably would have. I hope your son's recovery is complete and permanent.

Having done a considerable amount of night fishing and gigging when I was young I can tell you that around backwater in rivers and swampy areas its a perfect habitat for mosquitoes. At least with
tires just a little mineral oil in the water will stop mosquitoes from breaking the surface.

It wouldn't be right to post his phone # here but if you guys who are wondering about parts want to contact me I would give it to you privately.
