Big ole Deutz V-8 I spent some time in one of those FD-30's down in NJ in the early 90's. Former landfill tractor. One job they sent it to an overgrown field or lot, several acres of overgrowth and told me to clear it. I did, but hoped there was nothing hidden in there because you could not see much from that cab. I preferred the D8K, spent a lot more time on those. Fat Allis as we called 'er also seemed to gel up more in the winter, whereas the D8K seemed to keep the fuel line warm enough once up to operating temperature and being put to work. First time sitting behind that V-8, sure seemed different than an in-line engine powered tractor. It certainly pushed a blade full.
