I agree with much of what you have said about how we go into this mess. My experience with many many illegals is that they are NOT on the Dole, contrary to popular discussions. They are generally very hardworking, extremely reliable (show up every day) and learn to do the task quickly. They are also very committed to their family (not true of many citizens that do not support their multiple off springs). These people have many of the traits we need in America. Why can't we develop a guest worker program, register them, make them pay taxes, track them, and let them work and contribute to our economy? They will do the jobs Americans refuse to do. Instead, we have argued in DC for 30 years and accomplished nothing. That is how we got into this mess. We want to close the barn door now that the cow is loose.
