Hey NY 986, are you using classic view or modern view?
Because, in modern view even the IH board rarely goes past one page of new content in 24 hours, and you can easily see when someone has added a response to a thread, because that thread is moved to the top like on would expect on a proper forum.
Classic view arranges posts in the order of when the original post was made, so if three days down the line someone responds, the thread is buried 3-4 pages deep, and nobody sees it unless they specifically set up notifications or make a concerted effort to check.
I agree that everyone should put OT posts in one place, OR abstain from making OT posts entirely if that is the will of the forum ownership. However, it is a forum and like a tiger you are not going to change its stripes.
