NAPA filters are made by WIX. NAPA is redoing their filter numbers because WIX is changing theirs. a 1040 NAPA filter used to be the same as a 11040 WIX . now WIX oil/hyd filter all start with a 5 either 51 or 57 so would be a 51040. fuel filters mostly start with a 3 and air filters with a 4. NAPA used to be 1 were oil/hyd 3 fuel and 2 and 4 air. the NAPA gold and silver are much the same filter inside just the silver is a second line so they can compete
