I thought that 1st ,and was about to grind off bolts ,and pull the gear box . but then got to thinkin about pouring oil on it so I could feel more at home and have that stuff dripn all over my face when i go to beatin on the gear box to drag it out ,,. LOL,,. I recall the mixing augar being trouble free ,.. the unloader augar bearing failed with feed in it ,,. I pulled the unloader off ,, removed feed, all worked good ,. went to hospital and it rained and rained ,,. my son covered the chute but water still got in the cyclone, and drained into the back of tank ,, after I got out hospital , I put the grinder in the dry ,, water poured out and YOU KNOW THE DAMAGE WAS DONE ,,. should a rolled it thru BUT .I robbed pto for a bushhawg and it was at the other place ,/// life and struggle and time rolled on and continued their deeds ,.. and I got well enuf to kik the ol dawg again,. , 1st thing happened was I stript the splind shaft,,. turned it around , bored a hole thru the soft long shaft ,stuk a 3/8 bolt in there ,,. that will be my fusable link ,,. now ,, easy enuf to get to also// cleaned up the gear boxend with thread files and used the best end of the splined coupler there, I don't dare aplly power to this end until she rolls over free ,, I supposethere is come sort of ball bearing cog lokin ubetween augar and gearbox ,, but I don't know ????seemed like 30 yrs back I had the audacity to think I could repair a gehl 95 for a friend of mine ,. it only had a plastic fiber disc keepin feed from falling thru /?? , but that's gehl engineering for ya , took gear box apart and found a worn teeth on a gear,,. we switched and reversed the gears on the gearbox and shimmed them up , (I had done that to a 50 ft augar gear box and got away with it, so I thought it mite work here ) , the fella said he was gonna sell ou t and did not wanna spend for a new gear , , I fixt it , it worked fine , he decided to stay farmin , and today that same grinder is makin 2 loads of feed per month for him ,,. and this was 30 yrs ago .
