farmhand 810 grinder mixer stuk

Wisht I could go online and find a parts display blowup of this thing , so I would know what I am up against... a month ago , I reported the farmhand 810 mixin augar was stuck ,,.well it has made improvement ,,. I poured a couple gallons of oil all around the inside of tank ,, and by golly!,, I have got 6 inches of movement now,,. my guess is while I was in the hospital last yr, I had moved the grinder into the weather and rain water and feed salt done what it likes to do ,,. the restis now a problem ,,I gotta deal with , but a warning to the wise out there ,,. does anyone have any insite as to howi can fix this thing ?

nope , Randy , it is off there , NOW ! .../brace and all,,! I would say that it aint far from being worn out ,, my artsway is in same condition speaking of top mixing augar bearing ,, guess a fella could rebush it with sunmthin,,. just wish I could see a blow up of parts of this durn farmhand

I had trouble with my New Holland shearing pins for no apparent reason. There was a bearing going out in the top of the gearbox and every now and then,a roller would get in the gears. I wonder if yours has one wedged in there so it'll go part way one direction, then part way back?

If it's made like the new Holland grinder the auger that pull the supplement in from the back is driven from the same gear box as the mixing auger. I have had that auger lock up several times due to the u trough being left with stuff in it and it setting up hard. ( Sometimes I dump fines from the cleaner on the leg in the grinder and they draw moisture and set up

The old Deere grinder I first bought had about a foot of old grain left in it, and sat outside. That stuff set up like mortar, had to chisel some of it out.

My Art's Way is missing the supplement auger- I figured the previous owner had an issue that was best resolved by amputation.

I thought that 1st ,and was about to grind off bolts ,and pull the gear box . but then got to thinkin about pouring oil on it so I could feel more at home and have that stuff dripn all over my face when i go to beatin on the gear box to drag it out ,,. LOL,,. I recall the mixing augar being trouble free ,.. the unloader augar bearing failed with feed in it ,,. I pulled the unloader off ,, removed feed, all worked good ,. went to hospital and it rained and rained ,,. my son covered the chute but water still got in the cyclone, and drained into the back of tank ,, after I got out hospital , I put the grinder in the dry ,, water poured out and YOU KNOW THE DAMAGE WAS DONE ,,. should a rolled it thru BUT .I robbed pto for a bushhawg and it was at the other place ,/// life and struggle and time rolled on and continued their deeds ,.. and I got well enuf to kik the ol dawg again,. , 1st thing happened was I stript the splind shaft,,. turned it around , bored a hole thru the soft long shaft ,stuk a 3/8 bolt in there ,,. that will be my fusable link ,,. now ,, easy enuf to get to also// cleaned up the gear boxend with thread files and used the best end of the splined coupler there, I don't dare aplly power to this end until she rolls over free ,, I supposethere is come sort of ball bearing cog lokin ubetween augar and gearbox ,, but I don't know ????seemed like 30 yrs back I had the audacity to think I could repair a gehl 95 for a friend of mine ,. it only had a plastic fiber disc keepin feed from falling thru /?? , but that's gehl engineering for ya , took gear box apart and found a worn teeth on a gear,,. we switched and reversed the gears on the gearbox and shimmed them up , (I had done that to a 50 ft augar gear box and got away with it, so I thought it mite work here ) , the fella said he was gonna sell ou t and did not wanna spend for a new gear , , I fixt it , it worked fine , he decided to stay farmin , and today that same grinder is makin 2 loads of feed per month for him ,,. and this was 30 yrs ago .

I can't really help you any but I can feel for you. I spent all last week working on my JD 400 grinder mixer. The big problem is getting replacement parts as JD don't support them anymore. I've been nursing it along trying to decide if I want to upgrade or retire from my small time cattle feeding operation. I guess I'm hoping I give it up before my grinder does and leaves me hanging. Good luck getting yours going again.
