You would have to find long term weather data that hasn't been "adjusted" to figure it out. The climate isn't, and never has been, static. Winds aren't caused by anything new. Warm and cold air masses around the globe cause winds. The oceans temps control the degree of those masses and the sun controls the temps of the oceans more than anything else. None of this is new. There are cycles that run in decades and there appear to be cycles of the sun that run far, far longer than we've even been aware of their existence. I guess what I'm trying to say is that what we perceive as unusual or having changed drastically isn't always what we think it is. If wed been around in the early Medieval period, we'd think this period was virtual mini ice age.
In the end, the fact is we don't know what we don't know. Mans lifespan is his focal point for his perception and ours is so incredibly short that I believe it's hubris to think we can make absolute judgements.
