Got stopped one time about 3 years after the insurance card requirement started- He asked if we had proof of insurance, wife opened the glovebox and gave him the card- he said "This card expired 2 years ago". Wife said "Uhhhh- they have a date?" He: "Yes" She: "Well, I made sure all the rigs had their card- I couldn't figure out why they would send them again every once in awhile- I just threw them away, as I knew we already had a card." Cop, and me, both laughed. He said the same thing- get us proof of insurance within 15 days the ticket will be dropped.
