For that price I would look at new. I have sold many otary cutters and you never know what a used one has been through. A bad gear box can be pretty expensive to replace and there are the unseen cracks that you will not notice until it falls apart.
King Kutter brand made good brush mowers and some cheaper ones. The blue ones were the better made ones and the yellow ones were made cheaper for the discount seller such as TS stores. These are still good machines just not as heavily made.
I prefer the shear pin over the clutch ones. When you hit something with the shear pin model the cutter stops turning but when yo have the slip clutch model it keeps whacking the stone or log until you lift the cutter or drive over it. If you insist on the slip clutch you can buy an after market one for about $125.
