JD Seller: I am ahead of you on this one, I have the ground directly going to the starter. One ground cable connects both batteries and continues to the starter. The cables are new and the connections are good. Thanks for the reply. I still feel that one battery is defective. I think I am going to take one battery out and only use one, the tractor starts very easily and it is unusually warm here right now. If the one battery works OK I will then take it out and install the other and see if that one works. If they both work OK I will install them in series and see what happens. If I remember I will give you an update after a week or so of running the tractor. Thanks again.
