You might consider checking the voltage of the battery before starting the tractor.
Start the tractor and check the voltage again.
If the voltage does not increase, then you might consider checking the generator.
Take a look at the photo below of a generator.
Remove both the lead at the armature terminal and the lead at the field terminal.
Attach a jumper wire from the field terminal and ground it to the tractor.
Start the tractor and attach the red lead from the volt meter to the armature terminal.
Attach the black lead from the volt meter to the frame.
If the voltage does not increase above 6.29, then you might consider repairing/replacing the generator; otherwise use the volt meter to check the cut-out relay.
Take a look at the photo below of the cut out relay.
If the voltage does not increase above 6.29, then you might consider replacing cut-out relay.
