If you don't want the head sprayed with primer... be sure to specify that! The machine shop we go to, automatically primes them when the job is complete.
We only found that out because my husband asked the guy what's your complete process? So the machinist took us into his shop and explained everything... and concluded with "and then we prime the head".
My husband said, "Whoa! Wait a minute - we do NOT want this head primed/painted because it's going back on a 100% rusty tractor... make sure you note that very clearly on the work-order. Because I can promise you I'll be very upset if come to pick it up and it's primed instead of rusty."
The machinist replied... "Well that's sure different."
We'd have been all kinds of ticked-off if it had been sprayed with primer.
